Craig had been on a duck hunting trip during an ice storm with his friend Chase Morland, who was found dead in Kaw Lake. Craig and Chase's boat had also been found capsized, according to KOCO. Morland had even tweeted about the hunting trip beforehand, writing, "In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma.#IntoTheStorm," which Craig had retweeted.
Craig's family had been hopeful over the past week, his wife keeping everyone updated on the search status. On Monday she shared that the boat had been confirmed "as being capsized," and that they found his dog Sam. She also urged fans to "please keep praying."
Likewise, Backroad anthem had also shared a message of support during the search for their lead singer.
Our hearts go out to both Craig and Chase's families during this difficult time.
