(WENN) - Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim, and Example have backed a campaign to save one of London's most famous nightclubs from closure.

Bosses of the legendary Ministry of Sound venue have appealed for help as London's Mayor Boris Johnson decides whether to allow a new apartment block to be built nearby - a move which could force the club to close over noise regulations in residential areas.

A petition has been launched in a bid to sway Johnson's decision and it had reached more than 4,000 signatures on Friday.

Calvin Harris and Fatboy Slim have backed the campaign, and Example says of the drive, "If we don't stand up and save it, we will lose the true home of British dance music."
