Dan Campbell is in place as the interim head coach of the Miami Dolphins. The tight ends coach has taken over the head coaching duties after Joe Philbin was fired on Monday following a 1-and-3 start. Campbell says the team's struggles aren't talent related.
The move comes after the Dolphins put up a dismal performance on the international stage, losing 27-14 to the New York Jets Sunday in London. Miami has lost three straight since a season-opening win at Washington, getting outscored 91-to-48 in those losses. Philbin was 24-and-28 after taking over in 2012. Miami went 8-and-8 each of the last two years. Philbin was also at the helm during the team's bullying scandal in 2013 involving linemen Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin. The Dolphins are on their bye this week. Miami's next game is a week from Sunday against the 1-and-2 Titans. Tennessee had a bye this past weekend.
