South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley says President Obama's record has often fallen far short of his soaring words. Giving the official Republican response to Obama's final State of the Union address, Haley said the President's policies have left the U.S. economically vulnerable and less safe in the face of a growing terrorist threat. Haley said the U.S. has an opportunity for a new direction in the 2016 presidential election. Haley is in her second term as governor of South Carolina.
Haley said the federal government is broken and insisted that there is plenty of blame to go around. She said it is time to fix it. Haley noted that she is the proud daughter of Indian immigrants but said the U.S. must bring a halt to illegal immigration. She said Republicans will continue efforts to end Obamacare, which she called a disastrous healthcare program. Haley also argued that Republicans offer better ideas for more robust economic growth.
