Major Lazer shared both some good and bad news with fans this weekend. The Diplo-led project announced that its long-awaited new album, Free the Universe, has been delayed a little bit longer.
It was originally supposed to hit the market last fall, but was pushed back to this past Tuesday, February 19th. And now, Diplo and company explain that they tried hard to keep the date, but decided that rushing the album would have been unfair to fans and everyone who worked on the recording.
Major Lazer has yet to reveal a new release date, but the album will be available to pre-order on iTunes starting this Tuesday, February 26th.
In the meantime, Major Lazer fans can enjoy the group's new mixtape, "Lazer Strikes Back, Vol. 1." As the title suggests, it is the first of three mixtapes that will be put out online between now and the new album's release. "Vol. 1" is available at MajorLazer.Tumblr.com.
