It's a new era in the life of Nick Jonas. That's one of the many messages that the pop star shared with Complex for his February/March cover story, which was released on Monday (February 1).
In the issue, the former JoBro opened up about the makings of his new album, which follows the success of 2014's Nick Jonas, and how his last year of experiences has strongly influenced his next chapter in music. And, yes, that includes his breakup with Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo.
For this record, Nick wanted to focus more on his artistic evolution, which required that he gather inspiration from his personal trials. "I think personal life and career have to kind of line up in the sense that my career changed so dramatically and then I think I had some catching up to do," he said.
Nick told Complex that he's in the final stages of finishing the LP, which features a collabo with Purity Ring's Corin Roddick and finds him singing about Cuplo on new cuts like "Chainsaw" and "Don't Make Me Choose."
"Naturally I'm going to pull a lot from that," he told the mag. "Not even so much about that relationship in particular, but about my state of mind, who I want to be. I'm meeting new people, and what that has been like. Also, just as a general change in my life. This year has been kind of nuts."
Jonas' new album is set to be released under Safehouse Records, which he co-found with none other than BFF Demi Lovato.
