French police are investigating an attempted attack on a Paris police station today, one year almost to the minute after the mass killings at satirical tabloid "Charlie Hebdo." Police say a man armed with a knife and wearing what they now believe was a fake suicide vest tried to enter a police station in northern Paris.
They say he shouted "God is great" in Arabic before police shot and killed him. Investigators are looking into whether the attempted attack was timed to match the terrorist massacre that killed a dozen people at the satirical publication on January 7th last year. Two brothers with ties to al-Qaeda also killed a police officer outside the Paris offices of "Charlie Hebdo."
