A Pennsylvania nun has received a mountain of Internet backlash after she posted a photo of the 10-point buck she shot last week near Erie, Pa., but that isn’t stopping her from pursuing one of her favorite pastimes.

Sister John Paul Bauer — who learned to shoot while serving in the Navy — has been hunting for a few years and says there’s something spiritual about the sport.

“You’re up in a tree stand — you’re still, you’re quiet, you listen,” she told WPXI, “and you watch as the frozen ground just comes alive. It’s like creation all over again.”

Still, some don’t share Sister Bauer’s outlook.

now-deleted post by the Diocese of Erie congratulating Sister Bauer on her kill received a litany of negative comments, reports IJ Review.
