A tornado killed one person and injured seven more in Appomattox County, Virginia. The National Weather Service says the twister near the town of Evergreen was rated an EF-3 with an estimated top wind speed of 136 to 165-miles-per-hour. It had a width of 400 yards and its path was 13 miles long. More than 100 homes and structures were damaged.

But, not everything was destroyed by the massive tornado. 3 crosses managed to remain standing and stood as a beacon of hope among all the destruction.

Among all the devastation in Evergreen, these crosses still stand.
