The very best actors and actresses were honored at the 2016 SAG Awards on Saturday.

The nominees for the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced in December. Like the Golden Globes, stars from both television and movies are celebrated. And being a member of the SAG-AFTRA guild in good standing is required to score a nomination.

The top film category is Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, for which the casts of Beasts Of No Nation, The Big Short, Spotlight, Straight Outta Compton, and Trumbo were nominated.

For the top TV awards, the contenders for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series were “Downton Abbey,” “Game of Thrones,” “Homeland,” “House of Cards,” and “Mad Men.” Competing for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series “The Big Bang Theory,” “Key & Peele,” “Modern Family,” “Orange Is The New Black,” “Transparent,” and “Veep.”

Carol Burnett received a Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
