Supreme Court Meets In Closed Conference To Decide On Hearing Same-Sex Marriage Cases From Several States

The U.S. Supreme Court is dealing a major blow to the Obama administration's plan to battle climate change.  The court today granted a request made by 27 states and various companies to block federal regulations to curb carbon dioxide emissions from power plants.  The 5-4 vote means the regulations will not go into effect while litigation over the legality of the plan continues.  Some power companies say the regulations will greatly increase the cost of electricity.
