UPDATE: An unresponsive plane tracked earlier today by NORAD has crashed in Jamaica. The FAA confirms the small plane is down but has not yet said exactly where. The plane had taken off from New York headed for Florida.
A small plane that took off from New York en route to Florida is now in Cuban airspace and there's still no communication with anyone on board. NORAD dispatched a pair of fighter jets to track the plane over the Atlantic Ocean until it entered Cuba's airspace where the intercept mission was taken over by that country's military.
NBC News is reporting the American F-15 pilots got close enough to the plane to see the pilot "unconscious and slumped over."
