Beyoncé's highly-anticipated “Lip Sync Battle” cameo finally aired on Thursday’s season 2 premiere, with the superstar performing with Channing Tatum.
Tatum, of course, competed against his wife Jenna Dewan on the season premiere. The first episode of the new season, dubbed the “Tatum Takeover,” kicked off with the celebrity spouses battling it out on the stage.
Dewan first lip synced Paula Abdul’s song “Cold Hearted,” dressed like the singer in a black top and mini skirt, with a black cap. But not only did Dewan mimic all the moves from the singer’s video, but she was also joined onstage by Abdul herself, and the two nailed synchronized steps.
For his first lip sync, Tatum fake sang the hit song “Let It Go” from the animated Disney movie Frozen, dressed as the lead character Queen Elsa in a long blonde wig and sequined dress. There was plenty of fake snow and even more laughs to go along with Tatum’s spirited performance.
Dewan for her second song channeled her own husband by recreating a scene from his movie Magic Mike, with a lip sync performance of Ginuwine’s “Pony.” To re-create his look, Dewan got decked out in sweatpants, a wife beater, a backwards red hat, and even wore fake six-pack abs. She had the audience go wild when she sat Tatum down on the stage and proceeded to give him a lap dance that had lots of gyrating and pelvis thrusting in his face.
Tatum’s second performance once again had him getting into full character, this time channeling Beyoncé for a performance of her song “Run the World (Girls).” For that, Tatum recreated Beyoncé's black-and gold outfit from the music video for that song, meaning in addition to wearing a long brown wig, he also put on boots, a miniskirt, and a bra. But, as mentioned before, the show-stopping moment was when Beyoncé herself came out and did some dance moves with Tatum.
