Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” has inspired countless cover versions, but the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia may top everyone with its new music video, done in honor of Child Life Month. The institution’s staff and patients joined forces for a memorable lip-sync of the hit track, applying Swift’s upbeat tune and lyrics to the bigger stakes of children in difficult medical circumstances who need all the support they can get.
On Facebook, the hospital explained, “Our incredible team of Child Life Specialists, Child Activity Coordinators, Music and Art Therapists, teachers and dedicated volunteers have created something really special and fun to celebrate and spread awareness for #ChildLifeMonth! Watch and SHARE this video featuring our amazing patients as they channel Taylor Swift with their own rendition of ‘Shake it Off’!”
There have been flash mob versions of “Shake It Off,” frat house iterations, a President Obama spoof, a video with the Victoria’s Secret Angels singing it, and a viral sensation featuring a police officer lip-syncing to it in his squad car. But the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia team has created a video that might be best of all.
