Styx Radio

Styx's former frontman is sharing his renditions of the band's classics with his new CD-DVD set, Dennis DeYoung And The Music Of Styx - Live In Los Angeles. The singer is teasing the upcoming release by posting a seven-and-a-half-minute clip of the "Best Of Times" on YouTube.

DeYoung says The Beatles served as his inspiration for "The Best Of Times."  He tells UltimateClassicRock.com he was "thinking of a McCartney song," and "trying to write something from 'Abbey Road' and it didn't come out as well."

But Dennis adds that he knew he was striving for something out of reach.  He says "nobody can beat those songs on 'Abbey Road,'" which he calls "pure genius."

Dennis DeYoung And The Music Of Styx - Live In Los Angeles will be available as a two-CD/DVD set and on Blu-ray on October 21st.
