Ice Cube stopped by Power 105.1's "The Angie Martinez Show" earlier this week and weighed in on the recent Oscar snub for his N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, which only scored one nomination for Writing (Original Screenplay).

"I think we deserve Best Picture, especially by them leaving two [movies] out. They usually pick 10 movies. They only picked eight this year…I do what I'm supposed to do to promote the project. I ain't gonna kiss no ass for nothing, so maybe that is the problem. Or maybe we should've put a slave in Straight Outta Compton," Ice Cube told the host. "I think that's where we messed up. That's where we messed up. Just one random slave for the Academy members to recognize us as a real, black movie."

Cube went on to explain that even though recognition from the Academy would be cool, Straight Outta Compton received props back in August when it scored over $200 million at the box office. No lies detected there.

Angie also spoke to the multi-talent about his new movie, Ride Alone 2, his adoration for Kendrick Lamar and even his thoughts on Donald Trump.
