(NEWSER) – If Sarah Palin's endorsement of Donald Trump wasn't bizarre enough, Tina Fey returned to Saturday Night Live to turn, as the Decider puts it, the erstwhile vice presidential candidate's "already impressive word salad into even more of a feast for linguistic detectives of all stripes."

In the show's Cold Open, Fey quipped, "I wanted to take a break from my full-time career of writing things on Facebook to fly down here and lend my support to the next president, Donald J. Trump. I'm here because we Americans are strugglin', we've lost our jobs at the factory or our reality show about Alaska." Darrell Hammond's Trump joked in turn that Palin is "the total package—smarts, legs, yelling."
