65 fifth graders from Public School 22 in Staten Island, N.Y. have made a name for themselves through their joyful covers of many of pop music’s biggest hits. In a year-end highlight reel (never before seen), the children’s choir performs a clip of Sara Bareilles‘ “Brave” right in front of the superstar singer-songwriter.
Backstage at an event earlier this year, PS22 delivers an “amazing” cover of the Grammy nominated-song, lifted from Bareilles’ 2013 The Blessed Unrest. Also, there’s a bonus appearance by Whoopi Goldberg.
PS22, led by Gregg Breinberg, have performed a slew of covers (with the original artists) over the years. Those artists include Carrie Underwood, A Great Big World, fun.‘s Jack Antonoff, Fifth Harmony, Daughtry, The Walking Dead‘s Emily Kinney and Gavin DeGraw, among others.
