A large crowd turned out on Thursday night to see Hillsong Young & Free, a band formed out of the Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia. The Christian group is currently on their Youth Revival tour, and Gomez decided to join the musicians for their L.A. gig.
The theater erupted in cheers as the singer took the stage about halfway through the show. Before performing “',” Gomez told the crowd, “Tonight is more than a concert. It’s more than Hillsong. It’s more than me coming on stage and singing a song for you. It’s about a relationship that is greater than anything.”
Gomez’s God-centered song features lyrics such as “Nobody’s gonna love me like you,” which refers to her bond with God being more powerful than it is with any person. The song is featured on the singer’s latest album Revival, the tour for which is slated to kick off in May.
