Seth MacFarlane sang a few of Cyndi Lauper’s greatest hits on Friday’s “The Graham Norton Show” as his “Family Guy” characters Stewie and Peter Griffin. The audience loved every second of it.
While appearing with Lauper on the British talk show, MacFarlane was challenged to sing “Time After Time” and “True Colors” in the voices of his animated characters.
“Imagine you’ve got an evening at the Drunken Clam [the bar in ‘Family Guy”‘],” said Norton, adding, “It’s Cyndi-aoke. Let’s call it Cyndi-aoke. It’s a thing. So who would you pick to [sing] ‘Time After Time?'”
MacFarlane noted Stewie would probably be the one to sing that song. “I wish I had a bouncing ball,” joked MacFarlane in Stewie’s voice, before launching into the second verse of the song. He then sang Lauper’s hit “True Colors” as Peter Griffin.
At another point in the show, MacFarlane and his Ted costar Mark Wahlberg sang the explicit song “Thunder Buddy” from the first film.
“When you hear the sound of thunder, don’t you get too scared. Just grab your thunder buddy, and say these magic words: F*ck you, Thunder. You can suck my d*ck. You can’t get me, Thunder, because you’re just God’s farts,” sang MacFarlane and Wahlberg.
