Willie Nelson is playing a key role in a proposed new TV series. Rolling Stone says the country icon has been tapped to host "Inside Arlyn," a show featuring interviews and performances from music legends and newcomers.
This week Willie is expected to begin taping 13 episodes for the first season. Merle Haggard is among the stars slated to be featured on one of the shows, while blues great Gary Clark Jr. is another planned season one guest. In addition, Willie and Hag will be teaming up for an interview on the show with veteran newsman Dan Rather. The two country stars are also reportedly starting work on a new collaborative album.
Nelson's nephew Freddy Fletcher owns Arlyn Studios in Austin Texas, which is providing the setting for the series. Fletcher says "Inside Arlyn" doesn't have a TV outlet yet, but a number of cable stations are interested in the show.
