The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is causing concern, but each year there are health concerns around the World. In the UK these are monitored by The National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC). As well as diseases NaTHNac also looks into other health issues for travellers from the UK. What are they? I speak to Dr Dipti Patel to find out. I'm sure everyone knows what there is to see and do at Las Vegas, but what about the city's home State, Nevada? I chat with Leanne Gosford, who represents both destinations in their London Office, to see what Nevada has to offer, as well as looking into the attractions in Las Vegas. Drive through wedding anyone? In the travel news section I mention t...

The Ebola virus is big news at the moment, and such outbreaks are monitored in the UK by the National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC). This organisation promotes standards in travel medicine, providing travel health information for health professionals and the public. I spoke to Dr Dipti Patel from NaTHNaC to find out how they do this. We also talk about other health hazards for travellers. In the Travel News section I talk about the current volcano scare and travel insurance, and to show that I don’t just throw this show together, the other news story fits in with some of the work that NaTHNac does as I share a story about a traveller that had health problems and how much money h...

Travel and holidays are great, but they can cause problems for the locals. When I visited Las Vegas I found that the locals couldn't wash their cars or water their gardens as there was a drought. BUT shops and hotels could spray water onto passers-by to cool them down. I chat with Mark Watson from Tourism Concern to find out what problems tourists can unwittingly cause and how Travel Concern is promoting a more ethical approach to travel. Have you been to Aruba yet? I haven't and it is high on my list. Find out why when I feature Aruba as a holiday destination. That's all on this week's Travel Show, where I'm checking it out before you check in.

Low cost airlines can have expensive 'at the airport' fees. So can you do what you need to do for less using internet facilities at the airport. I investigate the UK airports used by Ryanair and Whizz Air. The BBC has released a report highlighting an increase in the number of parents fines for keeping children out of school. How large was this increase? Some families can't afford to get away, even for a short break in the UK. I speak to the Family Holiday Association who try to help in these cases. The FHA also explains why holidays are important to children. Yes it's August, but Christmas will soon be here. Leger Holidays explain all you need to know about European Christmas Markets.

Have you ever thought about selling up and just travelling? I guess most people do, especially after returning from a great holiday. However the little negative voice always stops us from doing it. Not so for Andrea, CJ, Jack and Tess, who are collectively the Traveling Chimps. They are travelling across the USA house and pet sitting. This week I chat with CJ and Andrea to find out why they are doing this and how. Also, you've hired a car, but you've misplaced the photocard part of your driving licence. What can you do? Find out by listening to this week's podcast, where I'll be checking it out - before you check in.

I’ve just booked my pets into the kennels for my summer holiday. The cost of this would pay for another week away. There is also a story of someone who complained at the wrong time. Listen in to find out what happened.
