Anastasia Kobekina

Cellist Anastasia Kobekina has won important prizes, including one at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. She has appeared with top orchestras internationally and has been signed to the Sony Classical label. Kobekina was born on August 26, 1994, in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Her father was the composer Vladimir Kobekin, and her family was musical. Kobekina took up the cello at age four. In 2006, she was admitted to the Moscow Conservatory, studying with Olga Galochkina.
