Biography
Swing-era vocalist Barry Wood was the brother of bandleader Barney Rapp, although he began his career as a sideman under Buddy Rogers; when Rogers refused him the opportunity to sing, Wood exited to lead his own orchestra, eventually landing as a regular on the Lucky Strike Hit Parade Radio Show. Scoring a hit with the single "Ev'rybody Ev'ry Payday," he later left music to turn to a career in television production. Wood died in 1968. ~ Jason Ankeny
