UK band Botany 500 were formed by ex-Juggernauts (one single, ‘Throw Yourself Under The Monstrous Wheels Of The Rock ‘n' Roll Industry As It Approaches Destruction') vocalist Gordon Kerr (b. Sterling, Scotland) and David Galbraith. Their early use of ambient textures along with funk and jazz interludes was persuasive and pleasant. A debut single for Supreme, ‘Bully Beef', even featured live string accompaniment. Kerr split from Galbraith in 1989, winning a Tennent's Live! talent competition run by Glasgow's Ca Va studio.
