Attempting to re-create the glory days of vintage post-punk à la the Fall, California's own the Movies appeared in 2000 with a sound they describe as "the quietest punk band ever." Actually far more angular and abrasive than that description, the group was formed by ex-Vehicle Birth member Timothy James and bassist Jessica Gelt.
