b. George Underwood, London, England. Calvin James was the stage name adopted briefly by Underwood, founder member of the King Bees and Manish Boys with David Bowie. Underwood then came under the tutelage of Mickie Most and, as Calvin James, recorded ‘Some Things You Never Get Used To' for Columbia Records in 1965.
