Biography

b. 1944, Thurnscoe, Yorkshire, England. The daughter of a singing miner, the clean-cut pop singer moved to London at the age of 16, and, after appearing on the Joan Regan television show in 1961, was snapped up by HMV. Deene had four UK Top 50 entries in a 12-month period, all with cover versions, but none made the Top 20.
