Biography
Also telescoped as Chittibabu in some accounts, Chitti Babu was a child prodigy. Born around 1936, he supposedly made his public debut on stage at the age of 12. He studied at first under Appalachariar and then under Emani Sankara Sastri. He has broadcast extensively on All India Radio. He has risen to become one of the most acclaimed vina players of his generation. His work also appears on the (Japanese) King and Tips Raga Series labels. ~ Ken Hunt
