Shortly after forming, Minnesota's Four Letter Lie independently put out the EP Her Escape in May 2005, hitting the road hard to spread their name throughout the melodic hardcore/screamo scenes. Comprised of vocalist Brian Nagan, guitarists/vocalists Kevin Skaff and Connor Kelly, drummer Derek Smith, and bassist John Waltmann, the band soon sold over 1,500 copies of the EP, hooking up various dates on the 2005 Warped and Taste of Chaos tours along the way.
