British pianist Ian Fountain began his music education at New College, Oxford, and continued his studies at Winchester College and the Royal Northern College of Music, where his teacher was Sulamita Aronovsky. In 1989, Fountain won the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Masters Competition in Tel Aviv at age 19.
