Biography
Active in Nottingham in the UK, Magic Car swiftly cottoned on to the revival of interest in early American folk music as played by contemporary musicians. The band's leader is singer-songwriter Phil Smeeton while others in the group are Hazel Atkinson (vocals), Dave Langdon (pedal steel guitar) and John Thompson (bass). Appearing with Magic Car on record have been guests Gareth Bailey, Rick Kemp, Ross McDougall, Stevie Otter and Jim Walker. The band's release of their second album Yellow Main Sequence brought recognition in the UK and also in the USA, where it was showcased. T...
