Manno Charlemagne

Manno Charlemagne has suffered greatly since the September 30, 2001, military coup against Haiti's president Jean-Bertrand Aristide. Jailed without charges, he was beaten by soldiers and his wife was forced into hiding. Released on October 18th, he was held in military custody for a week. Taking refuge at Haiti's Argentine embassy, he planed to meet his family in Guadalupe. Charlemagne's outspoken lyrics have gotten him into trouble before.
