Known to her fans as simply Nathalie, pop singer Nathalie Schmeikal was a finalist on the Swedish television show Idol who went on to a short-lived recording career. Born in 1985 in the city of Mölndal, Sweden, Schmeikal grew up in the town of Skärhamn. After successfully auditioning for Idol (essentially the Swedish version of American Idol), she finished in eighth place on the 2004 season.
