Pepesito Reyes/Estrella Morente

Cuban traditional and improvisational pianist Pepesito Reyes (born José Reyes Núñez) became popular after working for almost two decades alongside Joselito Fernández. Founder and member of Fajardo y Sus Estrellas, the talented musician also played in a jazz ensemble called Happy Happy and the Cuban pop group Los Martínez. After settling in New York, Pepesito Reyes had the opportunity to play with Nat "King" Cole, Duke Ellington, Tito Puente, and Astor Piazzola, among other prominent artists. ~ Drago Bonacich
