Biography

b. 30 August 1924, Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, Canada. A cousin of famous Canadian country music singer Hank Snow, Smith became known in the late 50s when, with his band, the Melody Four, he recorded for RCA-Victor Records. The other three members of the band at this time were Roddy Dorman (fiddle), Wendell Simm (bass), and Don Millard (guitar).
