b. 30 August 1928, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Mann's US male/female vocal group, popular in the 60s, specialized in lively, swinging arrangements, in complete contrast to the prevailing beat music scene. The group released several popular albums, including Roar Along With The Singing ‘Twenties and Swing Along With The Swingin' ‘Thirties, and also had a US Top 10 chart single in 1967 with Jimmy Webb's ‘Up, Up And Away'.
