Originally named for the Beatles' song "Savoy Truffle," the outfit Truffle formed in 1986 while attending the University of New Hampshire in Durham. Molding neo-hippie flair with American trad rock, their popular three-hour shows quickly gained Savoy Truffle a reputation for being the supreme college band of the northern East Coast, not to mention one of most sought out college bands during this time.
