A group of experts on the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS is resigning in protest of the Trump administration. In an op-ed for "Newsweek," Scott Schoettes explained that he and 5 others resigned because the Trump administration "does not care" about the cause. He writes that the administration has no strategy for addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic and actually pushes legislation that he says will harm people with the disease.
Schoettes notes that Trump has not appointed anyone to lead the White House Office of National AIDS Policy.
