The deaths of 12 patients at a Florida nursing home after Hurricane Irma are being considered homicide. Hollywood Police say the Broward County Medical Examiner's office ruled the deaths as homicides caused by heat stress.  The mostly elderly patients at the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills died in the days after Irma knocked out power to much of the region, including the nursing home's air conditioner.

Patents weren't evacuated until the first deaths began 3 days after the power went out.
