Kate Middleton's Quick-Thinking Helped A Sick Boy During Her Royal Visit
January 19, 2018
Kate Middleton is a woman of many talents, but it was her maternal instincts that were on display when she came across a sick child during a royal outing in Coventry on Tuesday (January 16) and immediately took action.
As the story goes, 10-year-old Craig Skipper, who is a student at Corpus Christi, had been waiting outside in the cold for three hours to see Middleton and Prince William. Unfortunately, the wait was just too much for Skipper to handle and he ended up getting sick. "Princess Kate came over and gave him a sickbag, our little Craig," Carole Flynn, a learning mentor at Corpus Christi primary school, said via PEOPLE. "I think he was a little bit overcome. He went quite pale. She came over to speak to him, and noticed he was not very well. She asked if he was okay. She bent down and was concerned."
Middleton, who is expecting her third child in April, ended up talking to one of her bodyguards and returned to the young boy with a brown paper bag in case he got sick. "It was lovely of her," Flynn continued. "She really took time with him. You can tell she is a mom, and has got that caring side."
Prince William also showed off his parenting skills when he calmed down a crying girl who wanted a hot chocolate. "I have to go down now," William told her, before heading into the Coventry Cathedral for his next appointment and asking if he should order her a hot chocolate with marshmallows.
