WHEC - "Deputies say a parole absconder crashed his car and fled from police late Monday night.

According to inmate records, 38-year-old Jason Arnold was released from prison for burglary and grand larceny last year.

At around 11 p.m., Arnold fled from NYS Parole and the East Rochester Police Department in his Mercedes Benz in East Rochester. While fleeing, Arnold struck an East Rochester Police vehicle.

Deputies say Arnold then drove northbound on Panorama Trail and into Penfield. In the area of Panorama Trail and Rt. 441, Arnold drove off the road, and crashed his car in a ditch. Deputies found the vehicle, and discovered that Arnold had fled the scene on foot.

Law enforcement agencies set up a perimeter and within minutes, Arnold was seen about a quarter of a mile from the crash, running on foot in the area of 700 Panorama Trail. Police say a brief foot chase ensued before Arnold was taken into custody without incident.

No one was injured during the incident.

Arnold is now charged with violating his parole."
