Verlander Helps Astros Avoid Sweep By Angels

Justin Verlander struck out nine over seven innings of four-hit, two-run ball as the Astros beat the Angels 5-2 at Minute Maid Park.  Alex Bregman had a three-run  double and Jose Altuve and Jake Marisnick homered as  Houston avoided a three-game sweep.  Nick Tropeano took the loss.  Albert Pujols homered for the Angels to  record his 2,994th career hit.
