Despite much talk of retirement over the past several years, Phil Collins is planning yet another tour. The singer's Not Dead Yet Live! tour, named for his 2017 autobiography, kicks off in Florida on October 5 and ends in California on October 28.
Fans can register for verified fan sale now through Friday, May 11, here. The sale takes place Monday, May 14, beginning at 10 AM.
Collins returned to the performing live last summer after seven years in hiatus with a handful of shows in Europe for the first leg of his Not Dead Yet tour. Due to back problems, Collins mostly performed seated while his son Nic Collins played his father's drums parts for most of the tour.
The Not Dead Yet Live! tour will be Collins' first North American Tour in eight years.
Collins released his Not Dead Yet memoir last September. The book tells the story of Collins' life and career as a drummer-turned-frontman in his own words. The musician often jokes that his career as a public figure began when he appeared in a crowd shot from The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night film in 1964. After years of playing drums in London bars, Collins joined Genesis in 1970. In 1975 upon the departure of frontman Peter Gabriel, Collins became Genesis' frontman, leading the band through its most commercially-successful period before launching his incredible solo career in 1978.
And with Collins' apparently determined to continue touring, even if it's just a handful of dates per year, Genesis fans will continue to hold out hope that there will be one more reunion. Earlier this year, former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett suggested that a Genesis reunion would not necessarily require Collins to play drums.
Hackett and Genesis keyboardist Tony Banks have both said recently that they would be open to one last go-around as Genesis.
With Collins back on tour, all the members of Genesis' are still active live performers. Bassist Mike Rutherford toured and released a new album last year with Mike + the Mechanics. Hackett released a new solo album, The Night Siren, last year and has toured in celebration of Genesis' Wind & Wuthering album this year. Banks release a solo album called Five due in February.
Gabriel last toured in 2016, though his concert calendar has been light ever since.
