Sam Hunt had one of the coolest performances during this year's CMT Music Awards ... because he literally went bar hopping while singing his new single "Downtown's Dead."

For his epic performance, Sam took over the streets of Nashville as he made his way down Broadway hopping from one bar to the next through a crowd of screaming fans (such FOMO), while singing his new song.

"Downtown's Dead" was co-written by Hunt, Josh Osborne, Zach Crowell and Shane McAnally, and like Hunt's previous music, the track blends country and R&B as the Georgia native sings about missing his love. He sings in the chorus, "Downtown’s dead without you/ Girls walk by and friends say hi, then Friday night it might as well be just another/ Tuesday night without you/ As long as you're still in my head there ain't a way that I can paint a ghost town red/ Downtown’s dead, downtown's dead."

Well. Downtown Nashville was anything but dead during Sam's performance. Take a look at the fan reactions to Sam's CMT Music Awards performance that will make you say "same."
