Hours after word of his death hit the blogosphere, Paris Jackson mourned the loss of her grandfather, Joe Jackson, with a touching Instagram post, where she shared some of their final moments together.

On Wednesday afternoon (June 27), the 20-year-old star took to the social media platform to detail that her final moments with her grandfather were filled with stories, laughter and lots of affection. "Spending those last few moments with you were everything. Being able to tell you everything I needed to tell you before saying goodbye was such a blessing," she kicked off the message. "Everyone that came to visit you, came with love, respect, and so much pride in their hearts for you."

Elsewhere in the lengthy post, Paris said she was proud to be a Jackson, courtesy of Joe's hard work to make his family music icons."I will cherish every moment with you til the day I die, especially our last moments. Being able to hold your hand, lay with you and cuddle you, give you kisses all over your cheeks and forehead, meant more to me than you’ll ever know," she continued. "Quoting advice you gave me when I was a little kid and seeing your eyes light up, sharing stories my dad used to tell me about you, telling a joke and hearing you laugh for the last time."

Pairs concluded her note, sharing her immense gratitude for Joe and explained that she will see him in her dreams "very very soon."

The patriarch of the Jackson family died at the age of 89 after a battle with cancer. According to TMZ, Jackson passed at 3:30 AM in Los Angeles, just two days after the ninth anniversary of the death of his son, Michael Jackson. Just last week, Joe had been hospitalized with terminal cancer, and since then had been surrounded by his family including his wife, Katherine Scruse, and some of his children and grandchildren.
