Hozier's releasing new music this week.
The "Take Me to Church" crooner's latest album, Nina Cried Power, will drop Thursday (September 6). Albeit with vague hints, Hozier has been teasing the aspects of the effort — his first full-length studio record since 2014's From Eden — in recent weeks.
"News is coming very soon… hozier.com" he tweeted a week ago, along with an underwater animation. Days later, he confirmed in another tweet that his new album would be arriving on September 6. Now, the Irish-born singer-songwriter is celebrating his return once again by unveiling the cover artwork for Nina Cried Power EP.
I’m thrilled to release the Nina Cried Power EP on September 6th. This collection of songs is an example of what I’ve been working on in the last while and will be a small taste of what is to be expected from the upcoming album. https://t.co/4BF7hsFCfZ pic.twitter.com/dneUIHU5Ez

"This collection of songs is an example of what I’ve been working on in the last while and will be a small taste of what is to be expected from the upcoming album," the 28-year-old captioned the artwork revealed Monday (September 3), which depicts the indie rocker undersea.
The Grammy-nominated musician told Rolling Stone "there was a bit of an urgency" to compose the four songs that comprised his upcoming four-track EP, on which he spent more than a year to perfect. With the record, Hozier intends to honor "freedom-fighting" singers like Nina Simone, the inspiration behind the album's gospel-tinged titular record "Nina Cried Power."
To support the record, Hozier will embark on a 17-date tour in North America this fall.
