A Minnesota fire department's Facebook Live video is going viral after a special guest dropped in on a 9/11 memorial Tuesday that was being set up for a ceremony commemorating the 17th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
It happened in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, where Fire Chief Jerry Streich was preparing proceedings for the Twin Cities ceremony. As he was assisting his fellow officers posting American flags and hang a banner, when he saw they had attracted the attention of the nation's symbol.
“Hey guys, we are out here live on the highway 10 bridge,” Streich said, before pointing the camera towards an aerial truck. “I want to show what's going on here on the bridge. Look what landed on top of the aerial on 9/11.”
Video shows the bald-headed eagle surveying the ground below where the ceremony was about to take place.
"Isn’t that unbelievable? This eagle just landed on the aerial, while we’re doing the 9/11 memorial,” Fire Chief Jerry Streich of the Andover Fire Department said in a Facebook Live video. "Phenomenal."
As of Wednesday morning, the video had been viewed more than 2.8 million times.
