Say it ain't so. Demi Lovato went on an unfollowing spree on Instagram and some of her oldest friends didn't make the cut. The "Sorry Not Sorry" singer is no longer following Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez, and Iggy Azaela and fans are shook.

Demi and Selena have known each other since they starred on Barney and Friends together as kids, however, they've grown apart in recent years. They've followed and unfollowed each other on Instagram a few times over the years, so, this most recent Instagram purge isn't too surprising, especially because Selena unfollowed Demi at the beginning of the year.

Demi's decision to unfollow Nick and Iggy is a little more of the blue. Nick and Iggy have appeared to be two of her closest friends in recent years, but things aren't always as they appear from the outside. Demi gave a little bit of insight into her mindset when replying to a fan's post about her decision to fire her jiu-jitsu trainer Danielle Martin following her overdose.

"It was completely unfair to fire Dani, she's one of the few people who really cars about Demi's health and has been helping her for 3 years," the post said. "She's surrounded by people who care only about her money and she does not see it."

Demi replied to the post, writing, "you have no idea what you're talking about. True friends don't do interviews about you when you OD."

A source close to Demi told Entertainment Tonight the unfollowing spree is a result of her desire to "focus on herself" and "avoid any difficult relationships."

She needs to surround herself with those that support her goals and to stay away from any negativity. Demi has come a very long way. She's grown emotionally and matured a great deal through this process. She realizes there is no quick fix and has accepted the fact she needs to take this one day at a time. She still has a sober companion and she has built a very strong support group.

Demi still appears to be following Nick's brothers, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas. It's tough to see celebrity friendships go through rough patches and even sometimes end, but Demi is doing what's right for her and will help her stay happy and healthy.
