A co-founder of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel is being denied entry to the U.S. Omar Barghouti was prevented from entering the country before he even left Israel on Wednesday. The denial came despite Barghouti having a valid U.S. visa. He was expected to visit Washington, DC to speak at a series of events hosted by the Arab American Institute. However, the prominent Palestinian human rights activist was stopped at Ben Gurion International Airport and told American immigration officials had ordered the U.S. consul in Tel Aviv to deny him permission to enter the U.S.
